Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THERE IS an old saying, which goes: "Is it too expensive, or are you paid too little?"

The latest fuel protests lacked the support needed to make an impact.I see unrest in other countries; this is not just a UK and Eire problem, but also one for the whole of Europe.

It is time for a European haulage rate per kilometre. This rate would include enough profit to run a vehicle safely. There would be no excuse for poorly maintained vehicles, so guess what? Safety groups would support the haulage companies! Do you think that the new corporate manslaughter law could also be applied to any government body that opposed the bill? Name one Euro MP who would want to oppose that.

Large users of road transport would be paying the same, so a level playing lield of competition would be maintained. If you provide a certain quality of service you might be able to charge a premium: that's business.

Non-European haulage would also have to charge the price per kilometre to enter the borders of Europe, so that ends that argument.

Maybe I'm overestimating the simplicity of it, hull am sure someone will point out it is wrong to earn profit in road haulage!
