Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE MAN TGL has scooped the prestigious International Truck of the Year 2006 award.

The 19-strong jury of road transport journalists from countries throughout Europe, chaired by CM editorAndy Salter, awarded the latest TGL 94 votes out of a possible 133.

It romped home ahead of six other contenders, including the Iveco Trakker (39 votes) and Mercedes Atego (33 votes).

"The candidates for the 2006 award were very strong," says Salter. "The fact the TGL has won by such a wide margin indicates just how strong the product is."

The jury was particularly impressed with the MAN engineers' attention to detail, especially with the cab.

As well as being a strong and robust design, the jury reckoned that the exterior styling makes the vehicle look appealing, while the inside gives the driver an excellent environment in which to work and rest Distribution vehicles, by their nature, will spend many hours in congested city streets; the deep screen and effective mirror arrangement on theTGL offer the driver clear and uncluttered views all round, which must enhance road safety.

The International Truck of the Year judges are briefed to assess a vehicle's contribution to "the efficient carriage of goods by road" and this was where the TGL scored the highest.

The seven-tonne GVW version is a lightweight package which will attract operators who demand maximum payload potential.

"The whole MAN team can he very pleased with a job well done," Salter concludes.

"Everyone who has driven the truck has been impressed with this vehicle, which is a deserving winner of the International Truck of the Year 2006 award."
