Backing the Brits

Ihave read with interest and amazement two articles in CM dated 16-22 October and 23-29 October.

Having driven abroad myself and having a son and many friends in the industry operating to Europe and Asia I take exception to John Head's remarks regarding British drivers.

There may well be some "young pups" who try to be the big "I am" once they leave our shores, but I know the majority are hard-working decent men who have loving families whom they adore and cannot wait to return home to.

As for the Turks doing the job and bringing home £1,100 change, what are Eurohaul/F,urotrans tractors running on?

Eurohaul should be supporting the British drivers who need jobs desperately. There is a wealth of good international drivers out there who would be glad of a job and who would give loyal service to the company given half a chance.

I would like to think Eurohaul's John Heads could re-think his policy and perhaps retract the comments made and apologise to all the decent drivers, their wives/partners and mothers who may have been offended by the remarks made. Danneke Neale, Scarborough.
