A NUMBER of useful security devices Pl• were demonstrated by Auto Securities Ltd. on premises in Aldersgate, London, E.C.1, on Tuesday. Seven devices were presented, each described
as a "strong link " in a chain of security.
The first link consisted of engine immobilizers for petrol and for diesel units. Several alarm systems were shown: a comprehensive system of the pulsating type suitable for use on both petroland diesel-engined vehicles; an automatic system which " alarms" all openings and provides solenoid locking of the bonnet; a battery-operated alarm specially designed to protect vans with open loads and semi-trailers; and a hi-jacking alarm system which featured a special key or secret switch in the cab.
Protection for vehicle windows formed links of the chain; under this heading some very strong catches and grilles were shown for fitting to vent windows and locks and thumb-type screws designed to safeguard sliding Windows. The last of the links comprised a selection of security locks, bolts, bars and grilles.
Auto Securities Ltd. now has 12 mobile fitting stations in the London area, one in Birmingham and one in Liverpool. A station is also shortly to be opened in Scotland.
