Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SOUTH YORKSHIRE haulier Hallam Freight has undergone a pre-pack administration deal in order to exit a longterm warehousing lease.

The Rotherham-based firm called in administrators Christopher White and Andrew Wood of The P&A Partnership on 16 April; its trade and assets were sold to related firm Hallam Express on the same day.

Andy Whelan, former director at Hallam Freight and director of the new business, says: "Up until mid-2009 one of our biggest storage customers, which is in the automotive sector, was using two of our three warehouses. Due to the decline in that sector, the firm decided to take the bulk of storage operations back in-house, leaving us using just one of our leased facilities" He continues: "We tried to get out of the lease, which was due to run until 2011. but with no joy. We were in a position where we could not keep going, so we went into a pre-pack administration deal."

As a result, Hallam Express has moved to Sheffield; no redundancies were necessary. The fleet size has been reduced to 15 from 18.

Hallam Express has taken over Hallam Freight's membership of The Pallet Network. The firm's sister freight forwarding company ASAP International Freight remains unaffected by the administration.
