A DRIVER narrowly escaped serious injury after a youth threw a brick through his windscreen in Newcastle.The incident happened at around 9.20pm on 11 May on the A19 as the truck passed under a bridge at Bolden. The brick smashed the passenger side of the windscreen showering the driver with glass causing

facial injuries. He managed to keep control of his truck and stop.

The offender is described as aged about 16; 5ft 11 tall with short hair and wearing a dark anorak. He was with a second youth of about the same age who is 5ft 4 and stocky. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. • Contact:0191 454 7555 ext 6508
