• Speculation intensified this week of an imminent announcement on the future ownership of commercial vehicle testing. Senior sources within the VI agency believe the Government is likely to privatise the 91 testing stations But VI boss Ron Oliver says: "We've been waiting for weeks for an announcement but as far as I know the decision has not yet been made. It's wide open".
