verheard at last week's Institute of Road Transport Engineers' annual conference:
"BS5750? It's not a quality standard, it's a consistency standard. So if you produce crap consistently you meet the standard." Surely that can't be true? Can any reader beat that? The Hawk will offer his own special Standard of Excellence certificate, featuring the proud motto "Nil illegetimi carborundum" to the best offering.
