The vehicle is liveried with the words Peter Franklyn HGV Driving Instruction, and normally carries L-plates: the driver who saw the Freighter on the A2 says no attempt had been made to hide this signwriting.

The vehicle has chassis number SDLH4H55LLEE34907 and engine number 5712.

The 7.5-tonner, registration FYF 366V, was loaded with £400 worth of coal. It had a dark green cab and red chassis.

Fortunately the company has two other trucks, which were left untouched during the break in on Wednesday 28 April, so it can still cope with deliveries.
