• North Western Traffic Conunissioner Martin Albu has issued a formal warning to seven drivers formerly employed by Derbyshire hauliers Barlow & Hodgkinson who were convicted at Derby Crown Court of falsifying tachograph charts (CM 25 February-3 March).

Licence lost

• The licence held in the West Midland Traffic Area by Axminster-based Transcar Deliveries has been revoked. The company held a licence for six vehicles and trailers based at Stoke-on-Trent. TC John Mervyn Pugh said Transcar is in receivership.

Appeal lost

• JJ Adam Haulage has won its appeal against the refusal of North Eastern Deputy Traffic Commissioner H Anthony Richardson to grant it a five-vehicle licence based in Ossett. Richardson had refused the licence on financial grounds.

Betts warns

• The duration of the licence held by Arran Trading & Transport Co has been cut and the company warned about its future maintenance standards. Scottish TC Michael Betts has ruled that the licence will terminate at the end of this year instead of at the end of March 1994.

Case adjourned

• Wednesbury-based HE Humphries denied using a lorry with improperly maintained steering when it appeared before Halesowen Magistrates. The case was adjourned until June for trial.
