Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

dealer buying spree

• National motor dealer Reg Vardy has bought Mercedes-Benz light commercials and car dealership Callanders of Glasgow just two weeks after buying the Maloney and Rhodes commercial vehicle and car dealership from Rockfield parent Union International for .£1.9m.

The sale is the first in a series of moves in which parent company, Union International, plans to hive off most of its transport businesses.

Maloney and Rhodes, a Mercedes -Benz franchise in Cambridge, sells vans up to and including 3.5 tonnes.

Union International is still trying to dispose of its remaining transport firms to concentrate on its main food wholesaling and retailing busi ness: Rockfield which has around 500 trucks at six depots; Mercedes-Benz truck and van franchise WSM Motors of Bristol, and Westbridge Cars of Weston-super-Mare.

It is still deciding whether to sell off its container distribution firm, Dual Carriage of Liverpool which controls nearly 200 subcontracted vehicles.
