boy tactics'

SHADOW transport minister Norman Fowler MP has written to Transport Minister, William Rodgers, urging him to condemn action by members of the Transport and General Workers' Union at motorway service areas.

Mr Fowler has written that the position with motorway service stations on both the MI and M6 being without fuel is "a serious and deterio rating position which requires your urgent action."

TGWU men are refusing to deliver fuel to the stations run by the Trust Houses Forte organisation as part of a dispute over union recognition at The Night Out restaurant in Birmingham, another Forte house.

He demanded to know what action the Government was taking "to restore services and to bring to an end this totally unjustified action and second, will you yourself (Mr Rodgers) take the opportunity of condemning these bully-boy tactics," said Mr Fowler.
