The following five vice-presidents of the Institute of Transport have been elected for 1966-7: T. W. H. Galley (chairman, Tilling Bus Group); P. S. The Council of the Institute of Transport has appointed A. G. Griffiths to succeed the present secretary, F. W. Crews, when the latter retires from that office on November 30 next. Mr. Griffiths was appointed Institute librarian in June, 1946, and became joint assistant secretary in 1949, moving up to sole assistant secretary in 1961.

The following were among those elected as officers of the British Association of Overseas Furniture Removers for 1966-7 at its a.g.m. in Jersey last week: president, S. P. Mason; vicepresident, T. E. Mitchell and hon. treasurer, G. L. Gerson. A new appointment was the election of John L. Newbold, chairman of the USA section, as hon. vice-president.

K. C. Turner has been elected chairman of the international committee of the Traders Road Transport Association. Mr. Turner was Last month succeeded as TATA president by Jesse Delicate.

R. C. Fripp has joined the board of Duple Motor Bodies Ltd., whilst R. E. Brown has retired from the board at his own request.

Sir Patrick Hennessey (chairman of the Ford Motor Co. Ltd.) has been re-elected president of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. W. Swallow (chairman of Vauxhall Motors Ltd.) remains deputy-president. J. D. Richards (Chairman of the British Solex Group) continues as a vice-president and is joined in that office by M. I. Prichard (managing director of Perkins Engine Group), who succeeds J. J. Parkes (chairman and managing director of Alvis Ltd.).

L. G. T. Farmer (chairman of The Rover Co. Ltd.), as chairman of the British manufacturers' section committee of the Society, continues as an honorary officer. Honorary treasurer, for the seventh year, is M. L. Breeden (joint managing director of Wilmot-Breeden Ltd.).

B. A. D'Arcy has been appointed to the board of Quinton Hazell Ltd., vehicle replacement parts manufacturers. G. W. Rose, J. R. Stanfield and R. T. Chapman have been appointed directors of Pressed Steel Co. Ltd. W. S. Neville and J. Percival become divisional directors.

F. Morris has been appointed to the board of Henry Mason and Sons Ltd., of Bolton, Lancs. Mr. Norris joined the company in 1923 and has been general manager for some years. He is on the council of the National Association of Warehousekeepers. Among the recipients of special awards to mark the completion of 35 years' service with the RAC next week will be Edward Blore, the club's chief port officer at Harwich.

G. F. Sheppard is to take up an appointment as manager, BP retail market division, Shell-Mex and BP Ltd, on June I. He succeeds G. N. Peters, who is resigning to become assistant managing director, Wadham (Holdings) Ltd.
