MR. I. C. GREGORY, transport manager of Bristol Aircraft, Ltd., has become works services manager with wider responsibilities. MR. P. ALDEN has been appointed transport controller, in charge of day to day internal and external transport.

MR. J. G. DAWSON has been appointed director of engineering for F. Perkins, Ltd., and MR. GEOFFREY SMITH is now director of production. Mr. Dawson is general manager of the company's engineering division and a director of Perkins Outboard Marine, Ltd. Mr. Smith has been the managing director's personal assistant since he joined Perkins in 1957.

M. D. W. HAWKINS, a former director and general manager of Dunlop Plantations. Ltd., has been appointed to the main board of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. He joined the company in 1927 and was at one time chairman and managing director of Dunlop Malayan Estates, Ltd. Since February, 1958, he has controlled Dunlop's materials supply division.

MR. M. F. BARNARD was last Friday re-elected president of the Mansion House Association on Transport. Other officers were re-elected. MIL J. W. BANNARD was elected a vice-president and MR. L. A. CasTr.E-rotst (The Metal Box Co., Ltd.) and MR, B. V. G. LEWIS (Arthur Guinness Son and Co.(Park Royal), Ltd.) were elected to the council of the Association.

NEW TRANSPORT USERS' COMMITTEE APPOINTED

ANEW Transport Users' Consultative Committee for the London area has been appointed by the Minister of Transport to serve until February 28, 1962. The chairman is Mr. L. G. Burleigh, and other members are:—.

LEYLAND DOUBLE EXPORTS

nESPITE trading difficulties, particu

larly in the home market, Leyland Motors, Ltd., report an overall sales improvement of nearly 15 per cent. so far this year, compared with the corresponding period of 1958. In the export field this year's orders have doubled, and there has been a 20 per cent, increase in home contracts from municipal and private bus operators.
