THAT a district that reduced road 1 accidents to a stipulated figure might be given a 10-per-cent. Road Ruud tax rebate, in order to make people " accident-conscious," was suggested by Mr. W. E. Macve, area chairman, who presided over a company of 230 persons at the annual dinner of the C.M.U.A., Manchester area, last week. It was of no use to form small local associations, said Mr. Macve, when such work as they did could be carried out by the C.M.U.A. local offices.

The sooner Manchester invested in trolleybuses, the better it would be for the city, stated the Lord Mayor (Alderman T. S. Williams).

Further regulations for the industry were unnecessaiy, commented Major R. A. B. Smith, president, with reference to the statements by, Mr. Reynolds. When the Budget time came, the Chancellor ought to meet their requests for reduced taxation.

Appreciation of the action of Mr. Macve, in offering to circularize members with details of the accident roll in the city, was expressed by Mr. John Maxwell, chief constable of Manchester. Following this action, he had arranged to extend. the plan to other organizations.
