National Tyre Service (Garage Equipment) Ltd manager Bernard Judkins has been elected president of the Garage Equipment Association. He has been a member of the GEA council since 1975, and, prior to his recent election, was senior vicepresident (distributor) and chairman of the publicity committee.

Edinburgh-based Bedford dealer SMT Sales and Service is losing the services of managing director Reid Jack, who retires early at the end of this month, to become a consultant to SMT. A noted amateur golfer, Mr Jack has been in his present post for nine years, and is being replaced by one-time racing-car driver Bill Dryden, the company's commercial vehicle sales manager, and a director of SMT.for 18 months.
