SELECTIVE sourcing of castings has had a measurable effect on the NT250 as the weights of nominally identical castings from different foundries has been found to vary appreciably.
Other changes in specification aimed at weight-saving include: weights of a lighter flywheel; a new starter assembly; and revised water manifolding.
The NT250 will be substituted for the NT240 in current chassis from ERF, Fodens and Seddon Atkinson, though operators using the less-powerful engine can have it upratred merely by adjustment to the fuel injection system.
