Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AT THE launch of the NT250 (see this page), Cummins revealed further details of their future engine plans including the ten-litre Blue engine, reports GRAHAM MONTGOMERIE.

Due to be launched next year, the ten-litre (610cuin) engine was designed "uninhibited by any need to incorporate existing components so that new technology has not been compromised."

The ten-litre is a conventional in-line six-cylinder unit which is appreciably more compact than the existing 14-litre range from Cummins.

In specific terms, it is 280mm (11in) shorter than the NT250, 102mm (4in) narrower and ,205mm (Bin) lower, while the weight is claimed to be 772kg (1,7001b) compared with 1,150kg (2,530Ib) for the NT engine.

Turbocharged

, The engine was designed to be turbocharged in all instances with charge-cooling being incorporated for all ratings above 187KW (250bhp),

According to Cummins, the en-litre is intended to compleent the lower power end of the xisting NH/NT 14-litre engine .th outputs between 165 and 25KW (200 and 300bhp).

Fourteen ten-litre-engined hassis (Ford Transcontinental nd Leyland Marathon) are aleady in operation with UK and uropean operators.
