Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DRIVER WAS run over by his own truck in an accident at a Derbyshire quarry last week.

The accident is believed to have happened when the driver got out of his cab to examine his vehicle, although there were no witnesses to what happened.

The Health & Safety Executive this week confirmed it is investigating the incident.

The articulated truck had stopped on its way out of Dene Quarry, Matlock, and is believed to have rolled back over the driver as he went to the rear of the vehicle. He is being treated for serious leg injuries at Chesterfield Royal Infirmary where his condition is said to be serious but stable.

The quarry is operated by Tarmac, but it is understood that the driver worked for a contract haulier.

A Tarmac statement says: -We can confirm that there was a serious incident involving a con tract haulier. who had just delivered a load of stone to the coating plant at Dene Quarry.

"We understand he was run over by this vehicle, the circumstances of which are unclear as there were no witnesses, after he stopped on the access road on the way out.
