Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A driver who used his employees fuel card to steal 10,000 litres of fuel to run his own courier business has been jailed for six months.

When Peter Williams, from (Merton, Stockport, appeared at Manchester Crown Court he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft and asked for 81 similar offences to be taken into account.

Williams, who had worked for Stockport-based Movers Transport since July 1998, stole so much fuel that its profits slumped.

For Williams, Richard Littler said he was desperate and in debt at the time of the offences. He was paying maintenance for his child and at the same time paying off a mortgage and personal loans. Williams had set up the courier business so he could bring in extra money and he had worked round the clock.
