Fault finding

• Lucas has unveiled an extension to its training programme with a course for independent garages on fault finding for diesel engines; it does not cover pump removal or repair.

• For the sixth successive year the University of Huddersfield will be offering a management development course on logistics and physical distribution. • "Powering for the Future" is the title of the third annual motor industry trainees conference organised by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. It will be held at the Motor Industry Heritage Trust,

Gaydon, Warks on 11 September. Speakers will include Michael Jude, personnel director at Peugeot Talbot; and Arthur David, supplier development manager, Nissan. Delegate costs are £64.62 (ex-VAT).

ADR advice

• A three-day course on ADR—the European agreement covering the international carriage of dangerous goods by road— will be held at the Stakis Windmill Hotel, Leeds on 2628 September. The course, organised by Pira International, will cover all aspects of ADR with practical exercises and a short exam.

Trade talks

• The London Chamber of Commerce is taking a trade mission to Holland on 26-29 September. The Netherlands is Britain's fourth largest trading partner with a market valued at £10 billion.
