• Tata has launched two variants of the Loadbeta range. The Access van has central locking, electric windows, power-assisted steering and tilt-adjustable steering column, cloth seats stereo radio cassette and ful carpeting. Tata claims a 510kg payload.

All models sold in August will be supplied with a free mobile phone. Price is £7,995 (ex-VAT).

The Ghurka also joins the Tata model range in August. Sold as the Tata Sierra in India, it has rear side windows and a folding rear seat. Two trim levels will be available, basic and SE. The SE gains alloy wheels, a front bull bar, roof/ladder rack, sill guards, and a fourspeaker stereo radio cassette player. Prices start at £9,995 with the SE costing an additional £2,000.
