Ford in Portugal : Ford Lusitania, a branch of the Ford Motor Co., has bought a site north-east of Lisbon where construction is to begin soon on a plant for the assembly of commercial and private vehicles. Plans are already in hand for the building of British commercial vehicles in Portugal.

Sunderland's Profit Down : Gross profit of the Sunderland Transport Undertaking for the year ended March 31 last was £61,799. The corresponding figure for the previous year was £96,890. The net loss was £10,538, whereas for the year ended March 31, 1961, there was a profit of £15,798.
