Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ACLAIM for a substantial increase in pay for Aand B-licence haulage workers has been put in to the Road Haulage Wages Council by the Transport and General Workers Union.

This is a little later in the year than has been the case in previous years, when wages claims have assumed an annual pattern. Previously the claims have usually been made by July, considered by early August, settled by September, and put into effect well before Christmas.

A meeting is to be held on August 22 to consider redrafting the wages agreement into simpler terms. It is expected that the pay claim (which is not related) will be discussed soon after.

Present wages are governed by R.H.(72), which officially became effective from January 1 this year. The new proposals, when published, will appear as R.H.(73).
