There he became deputy chief of shipping and transport and, subsequently, as a member of the management staff, travelled in 14 European countries. In 1934 he accompanied the motor delegation to 'Poland, which he revisited in 1935 as a member of' the United Kingdom Trade Mission. In 1940-41 he visited West, South and East Africa, India and Burma. As a technical adviser to the Ministry of Supply Mission in India, he attended the Eastern Group Supply Conference at Delhi, where he acted as secretary of the armaments committee.

MAion H. M. WEIR; general sales manager of Jensen Motors, Ltd., West Bromwich, has rejoined the company after nearly six years in the Forces. He served in the Army for over five years in the 1914-18 war, was recalled from the reserve in August, 1939, and was among those evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940.

'MR. 1'. W. GRAHAM, after nearly 40 : years with the Vacuum Oil Co., Ltd., has retired. For the.past 20 yeers or more he has been advertising and publicity manager for the company, and during this time his genial personality has made for him a great many staunch friends- in the industry. Despite his official, retirement, 'his interest in the welfare of Vacuum products will be maintained in the Isle of Man, where he has made his new home.

From 1936 to 1941 he was London operating manager of Red Arrow Deliveries, Ltd. He is the son of Mr. George A. Hotter, one-time secretary of the original Road Haulage Association. '

Ma. H. T. Dueereen (chairman of the National Road Trahsport Federation and director of H. and G. Datfield, Ltd.) has been elected a member of the Council of the Institute of Transport, as have MR. C. JACKSON, M.C. (general manager of the transport department of Plymouth Corporation), MR. S_ KENNEDY (director of Thomas Tilling, Ltd.), and MR. R. 0. SQuAREY, M C. (transport officer, Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd.), and, with others-, they will fill vacancies which will arise on September 30 next.
