Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

mHE commercial vehicle trials which were instituted last year in connection with the Circuit des Routes Pavees meeting are to be held again in September next. The event this year will be of a 'rather more elaborate nature. The trials are to last three days, September 14th, 15th and 3llth, and the distance to be covered is about 258 miles. The publicity value of these trials is high and many of the firms taking part in last year's event were well rewarded for their trouble, as new business was obtained in the industrial districts of Northern France which have made such a rapid and complete recovery from the war devastation.

From this point of view the forthcoming trials should be of even greater value, from the distance to be covered and the fact that parades and exhibitions of the vehicles will be held in the important towns of Roubaix, Dunkirk, Amiens and Lille.

The general regulations are similar to those in force last year. Six categories are arranged for vehicles carrying useful loads of from 500 to over 8,000 kilos. The. first day's ran, on Tuesday, September 14th, will be from Roubaix to Dunkirk, via Lille, Lens, Bethune, Hazebrouck, Cassel and Bergues. Exhibitionof vehicles at Dunkirk. 125 kilometres.

The second day's ran, on September 15th, will be from Dunkirk to Amiens via Bourbourg, St. Omer, Aire, Saint Pd. and Donllens. Exhibition of vehicles at Doullens. 145 hi] metres.

The third day's run, on September 16th, will be from Amiens to Lille via Arras, Douai, Bouchain, Denain, Valenciennes and St. Armanddes-Eaux: Exhibition of vehicles at Lille. 146 kilometres. •

The vehicles will run in groups, by category, with official cars at the head and tail of each S'ection. Full particulars and entry forms may be obtained from the Commissariat General, Circuit Automobile des Routes Payees, 3, Cite Berg-ere, Paris.
