Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

colin.barnettrarbi.co.uk IVECO HAS LAUNCHED the Ecostralis, the latest variation of its Stralis brand, which has been optimised to reduce the trucks' effect on the environment and operators' bottom lines.

However, it is not just a truck but a complete package of vehicle, driver aids and management services. The core of the concept is a new Stralis AS Super3 variant, in 4x2 and 6x2 versions with a revised engine, modified Eurotronic transmission, long-legged final drive ratio and economy tyres.

The engine is a new 460 rating of the Cursor 10, producing 453hp and 2,100Nm, meeting EEV emis sion levels and with economy-optimised ECU mapping. The transmission includes a new feature, Ecoswitch, which gives managers access via a secure in-cab switch that optimises performance for economy and limits the amount of driver input, permitting one manual shift before reverting to full auto control.

A final drive ratio of 2.64:1 combines with 315/70 Michelin Energy Saver Green tyres all round to give an engine speed of 1,209rpm at 851un/h, which is part of the default settings Although this engine rating and axle ratio are the core offering, operators with other needs can choose from shorter axle ratios, and there will also be the possibility of specifying Cursor 10 420hp and Cursor 13 500hp engines, although the latter is not expected to be widely taken by UK buyers.

Driver aids available will include ESP stability control, adaptive cruise control, hill holder, lane departure monitoring and tyre-pressure monitoring.

Providing management support will be three different levels of the Blue&Me Fleet telematics and support system. With the whole package in place, the German TUV authority has tested the Ecostralis and reported a fuel saving of 7.32% compared with a comparable standard model. Pricing of the Ecostralis, which comes with a unique threeyear warranty, is around £3,000 higher than a standard Stralis.
