If you are smarting because you still haven't received a Christmas card from your favourite transport journal then allow the Hawk to put the case for the defence. This Yuletide, Commercial Motor, along with sister publications Motor Transport, Truck (4e, Driver and Truck, was delighted to pledge its support to the Children's Trust.

Instead of sending out festive greetings, the Reed Road Transport magazines gave £1,000 to this charity, which helps children and young people with exceptional needs and disabilities. Over the past year the Children's Trust, based in Tadworth, Surrey, has helped many children, including a 16-year-old girl who returned to school, following a spell in a rehabilitation unit, to achieve six excellent GCSE passes. There was also a six-year-old lad who realised his goal of walking his aunty down the aisle on her wedding day.
