Falsifying tachograph charts to hide the fact that they were driving for more than 4.5 hours
• • without taking the required 15minute break has cost six former White Arrow drivers £4,020 in costs.
Stephen Myers pleaded guilty before Worcester magistrates to nine offences of falsification; Shaun Jennings pleaded guilty to six offences; Gerrad Gurney to three; Paul Case to six; Andrew Beatty to three: and Ethan Williams to six offences. The mag istrates fined them £100 on each offenc with £120 costs.
Prosecuting for the Vehicle Inspectorati Beverley Bell said all the drivers had falstfie their tacho charts in the same way, b putting the chart in the second-man positio to hide the fact that they were not taking th required 45-minute breaks.
White Arrow has subsequently sacked a six of the drivers.
