Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EEXPORTS are likely to prove the lifeblood of our nation d uring this period of trial. They enable us to pay for those many essential materials and commodities obtained abroad which are necessary to the successful prosecution of the war and the welfare of the country as a whole.

The commercial vehicle industry has always played an important part in this sphere, and it is the hope of the Government that it will continue to do so; in fact, the latter is actively co-operating to achieve this object.

In the field of the private car, during November, there was a considerable increase in the expo rt of vehicles, compared with the equivalent period of 1938. Let us endeavour to accomplish as much or even more.

To assist in this laudable ambition, The Commercial Motor will publish, on February 3, a Special Issue dealing not only with this side, but also with the home market, and it will be entitled Export and Home Review. We invite all suppliers in the commercial-vehicle field to cooperate with us in making this a really valuable number, which will constitute an authoritative production, in which will be summed up the position of the industry and details of the products which it can supply to meet both home and export requirements.

Amongst other contents of this issue will be a series of opinions upon the situation from well-known personalities in the commercial-vehicle field, articles from trade experts, and others dealing with matters vitally concerning the present and future position of road transport.
