• Rema Tip Top has acquired exclusive rights to the Equal truck tyre performance system; an alternative to the lead-weight spinbalancing process. Equal is a dry polymer resin that can be injected into the tyres directly through the valve stem.
Granules are forced across the tread width and around the circumference of the tyre, constantly responding to force variations due to changing speed, load and road conditions. This is claimed to give a more stable footprint and reduced rolling resistance. Once the application has been completed there is no need for re-balancing during the original life of the tread. Other benefits are said to be more regular wear patterns and lower tyre maintenance costs. Contact: 0113 277 0044.
