Joe Moore has retired from Unigate where he was transport manager for the past 26 years. Mr Moore celebrated 50 years in the transport industry with a dinner given by the Uni gat e company in his honour.

The RHA's bulk liquids group has appointed George Lilly as chairman and Denis Miers and Ken Jones as vicechairmen for the next two years.

Lionel Storrs, 50, becomes Liverpool Containerbase general manager. Mr Storrs moves to his new post from that of adviser on port affairs to Kuwait.

He was also managing director of the Port of Liverpool Stevedoring Company and is chairman of BBC Radio Merseyside.

At the NFC David Brown has been appointed managing director of Tankfreight Ltd. He moves to his new job from Harold Wood and Sons Ltd where he was the Heckmondwike company's general manager.

Pickfords Removals and Pickfords Travel Services have also gained a new chairman in George Skelton, who takes on the job in addition to being managing director.

Roadline has named A. J. Tenten as its new security controller. He moves from Notting Hill sub-division of the Metropolitan Police where he was Chief Superintendent.

On the passenger front, Brian Horner becomes the general manager of East Yorkshire Motor Services. He moves to Yorkshire from Northampton where he is traffic manager of United Counties.

London Transport has named its new business policy officer as A. J. Jukes. He will be advising on the best ways to use the LT's resources.

C. N. Coles becomes LT's staff administration officer. He will be concentrating on pensions and sick pay arrangements.
