Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CERTAIN types of bodies fitted on light commercial chassis lend themselves for conversion to other uses, and in the case of vehicles which Would possess only a limited sphere of use in a single guise, this is a very desirable feature, in that it increases the utility of the vehicle, arid in this manner decreases the running charges.

An interesting convertible vehicle which can fulfil both the purpose a a station bus and a shooting brake is the latest product of the British Automotive Co., Ltd., of 19, Great Portland Street, London, W.1, which we illustrate on this page.

The bodywork, which was carried out. by W. and F. Thorn, Ltd., the well

known coachhuilders, is mounted on a Dodge chassis, and is constructed of stained and varnished English oak and walnut. The interior provides seating accommodation for seven people, the seats, which are disposed transversely, being adjustable and removable. The seats are fitted with well-sprung cushions stuffed. with horsehair, the upholstery being carried out. in a waterproof material.

The vehicle is made completely weatherproof by the use of roll-up curtains, with celluloid lights, which are fitted at the sides and the rear, and which also protect. the driver's cab. When not in use the curtains are held in position on the underside of the roof.

When the seats are removed the vehicle forms an excellent conveyance for luggage, ample space being provided for the purpose. Two doors are fitted on each side, two of them, immediately behind the doors giving access to the driver's cab, opening out into the interior, which is fitted with electric

lighting. -.

The Dodge chassis to which the body is fitted is standard in every respect. The spare rim with corer and tube which are provided in the inclusive east of the vehicle, which is abent 550 complete, are carried on the roof.

Greater use will probably be found for the vehicle as a station bus, although the fact that it can be converted to a second. use amplifies its value.
