• Scottish DTC Richard McFarlane took no action against the licence held by Millar (Skip Hire) of Kelso, and accepted its surrender. The firm appeared before the DTC at an Edinburgh disciplinary inquiry because of concern over maintenance.
Licence suspended
• Dorothy Bowman, trading as Northfield Haulage, of Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, has been disqualified from holding an 0-licence for three months by North Eastern TC Keith Waterworth. Bowman's licence had previously been revoked by DTC Brian Horner because of concern over maintenance, convictions, finance and VED problems.
Proof demanded
• West Thurrock-based Lakeside Haulage has been given 14 days to produce proof that money owed to the Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise has been paid, or face having its licence revoked. The company appeared before Brigadier Michael Turner, sitting as a Deputy TC in the Eastern Traffic Area.
Load discharges
• Redclitch magistrates gave Redditch haulier Stephen Walker and his driver Lester Hearle absolute discharges after hearing that a train weight overload had occurred because the weighbridge at the loading point was out of conunission.
