Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BRITISH Leyland truck and Bus will have a stop-gap chief until a permanent successor can be found for Ron Ellis, the outgoing managing director.

He is Pat Lowry, Leyland's personnel chief and main board director, who takes charge of the Group temporarily.

Since Mr Lowry will continue to report to Alex Park, BL's chief executive, as director of personnel as well as handling Truck and Bus affairs he is clearly not in the running for the permanent md spot.

Mr Ellis is leaving Truck and Bus to become head of sales at the Ministry of Defence. He is believed to have been unhappy with the decision in the Ryder report that all truck exports should be controlled by British Leyland International.

Commenting on the appointment, Sir Richard Dobson, chairman of British Leyland Ltd, said: "We think it a compliment to British Leyland that Mr Ellis has been appointed to such an important job although we are sorry to lose him as part of the top management team.

"Mr Ellis will be resigning from the board of British Leyland to avoid any possibility of a conflict of interest."

considerations are proving to be very attractive," Mr Tasker says.

Exports for Heathrow are collected by Roadline from its Rhoose airport warehouse in South Wales at 6pm every evening. By Ilpm the vehicle's load is being delivered to airlines and agents at Heathrow. And by 6.30am the next day, the vehicle has arrived back in Rhoose with imports collected in London for delivery in South Wales. Because of the success of the South Wales/Heathrow service, Roadline is now exploring the prospects of similar runs between Heathrow and other provincial airports.
