Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THROUGH the absence of municipal services, the public of Worthing serv enjoys the benefit of uniform fares and a completely co-ordinated system of town and country routes. This general view was formed by a party of members of the Omnibus Society who, at the invitation of Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., visited Worthing, last Sunday, to study the local bus services. The party was accompanied by Mr. A. D. McKenzie, director and -traffic manager.

THE question whether a halt sign in Bank Street, Lochee, had been lawfully placed there, was raised by Mr. J. W. Laverock, at Dundee Police

Court. The case was one in which James M'Gibbon, public-service-vehicle proprietor, Liff, was charged with failing to conform with the halt sign " lawfully placed" in Bank Street, Lochee.

It was maintained by Mr. Laverock that a motorist approaching High Street, Lochee, had a perfectly clear view of the major road in both directions before entering the main thoroughfare. Accordingly, unless the halt sign had been specially called for by the Minister of Transport, the local authorities had exceeded their lawful powers in erecting it.

The case was adjourned until September 15, when proof will be led on the question of the necessity of a halt sign at this junction.
