• Introduced into the United Kingdom by Peak Commercial Vehicles Ltd, this week, is the Lagab swop-body system from Sweden. It can be applied to vehicle bodies or ISO containers.
Bodies or containers are lifted on the vehicle sub-frame by an electro-hydraulic or pto-driven system or by compressed air. The equipment caters for lifts of between 18 and 24 tons depending on the type used.
With the hydraulic lift, the sub-frame is raised 16in. and the vehicle springs compressed by Sin. This makes for easy interchange between vehicles with different wheel diameters.
