The National Steam Omnibus Co. last Sunday ran an eight-minute service between Oxford Circus and Sidcup in opposition to Tillings on that route, and it is anticipated that the National Company will continue this service on Sundays during the coming summer months.

Albion Bus in Cobalt.

A user of a 12-seated Albion motorbus which has been running in Cobalt, Canada, since May last, writes to the company to say that he is particularly pleased with the work 'which the car has done, notwithstanding . the rough nature of the roads over which it is used, which roads are particularly hard upon both tires and springs. The vehicle in question, although constructed to carry 12 passengers, frequently carries double that number, many of the passengers electing to hang on to the wings and footboards rather than he left to do the journey by horse-drawn vehicles. This is the first motor

vehicle in Cobalt, and is used for maintaining a service to some mines six miles distant.

Tillings Stick to Horses.

The report issued at the fourteenth annual general meeting of Thomas Tilling, Ltd., on the 20th of this month, was of a satisfactory nature. The net profit for the year amounts to 232,900, as against 219,700 for the previous year. Attention is drawn to the fact that

the company's horse stock has for the first time for several years been increased.

Obstructing Trees.

The London General Omnibus Co. has extended its service, No. 18, in a southerly direction to Tulse Hill. This route now runs over Denmark Hill past Ruskin Park and Brockwell Park. The omnibus company had, previous to this extension, served notices upon a number of owners and occupiers of houses on Denmark Hill and Herne Hill whose trees overhang. the roadway, requesting that the branches should be lopped, in older to enable the omnibuses to pass.

A correspondent states that the following motorbus route would be a very-useful one to a large number of people : Waterloo, Westminster Bridge, Victoria Street, Buckingham Palace Road, Sloane

Square, Knightsbridge,High Street, Kensington, Notting Hill

Gate, Queen's Road, Royal Oak, Bishop's Road, Paddington and.i Marylebone Road.
