I NOTED WITH interest your article regarding security procedures within the road transport industry (CM 18 August).
Our company recently sent out a mail shot to more than 500 of our major clients involved in the transport of dangerous goods, informing them of a one-day security training course for managers covering the security of dangerous goods by road that we proposed to run.To our surprise we did not receive a single reply.
It could be that the industry does not realise the consequence of a load being hijacked, or it's turning a blind eye to another piece of legislation.
