Value for money is something which none of us can
afford to ignore these days. Whether buying tools or paying for a service, the knowledge that you have received something of genuine worth is important, both for the business and for the soul Our adjustable wrench test in this issue throws up some interesting contradictions to the accepted thinking on this. The adage about only getting what you pay for is turned on its head! The results speak for themselves. Study them and you will realise that you don't have to spend top money for top performance. Based on what we found, you could pick the cheapest in the bunch and be completely confident about its performance po-ential.
How can this be? Has that traditional divide between the best and the rest been brushed aside? Have manufacturing techniques been refined so much that top quality is within the grasp of all? We'll be looking closely at these issues over the coming months but, for now, the best advice must be to question everything before spending anything.
