• H&G Haulage (Farnworth) and driver Michael Leyden were given absolute discharges after admitting using a vehicle with an insecure load. Manchester City Magistrates Court was told that on 19 April Leyden was driving one of the company's vehicles along the Mancunian Way when several bales fell off and bent a lamp post.
