AThere are no regulations at present governing the issue of a driving licence in respect of heavy goods vehicles. So at the moment no problem arises for you.

However, the Minister of Transport has recently issued proposals regarding h.g.v. driving licences. If they become effective drivers having an aggregate of six months' driving of this type of vehicle in the previous twelve months will be issued with h.g.v. driving licences on application. Otherwise, a driver would have to pass the driving test as subsequently laid down in whatever regulations are ultimately determined,
