Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• We were very interested with the letter from "Name and Address Supplied" of your recent edition. This was in response to a letter from a Mr Menzies quoting his CPC PSV national qualification for entry to the grade of Associate.

Your unnamed correspondent, indeed, your good self, will be interested in the precis of the entry conditions for Corporate and Associate Membership. I should make it clear that the standard of paper expected of Mr Menzies or any other such applicant is very high and it will be subject to examination by at least three senior members of the Institute.

Besides the details of entry I have enclosed two copies of a pamphlet about entry by thesis which makes it clear that the standards expected are very high.

If you would like to place your correspondent in direct contact with me I can explain the requirements more fully. RK Alcock CBE MOT Director of Education and Training Chartered Institute of Transport
