Cable-ties made of -heavy" strength plastics from J. Lucas should last the life of any vehicle to which they are fitted. The cable-tie is self-locking and cannot be opened by inside pressure.
Another product, heatshrink tubing, has been designed by Lucas as an alternative method of insulation over joints from diameter.
In use, slide the tubing over the cable—crimp or solder the connection, slide the tubing back over the joint and apply heat gently, The tubing immediately shrinks and forms a skin over the joint.
