I AM going to take a chance and say your application can be granted." This was said by Mr. J. R. C. SamuelGibbon, Western Licensing Authority, to Mr. D. M. Fox, of Bridgwater, who appeared at a Bristol inquiry last week. Fox was answering a case under Section 178 of the Road Traffic Act involving contravention of normal user of his A licence. Appearing for Fox, Mr. M. McGregorJohnson said that accusations relating to distances in excess of 100 miles were admitted. Fox agreed he made regular visits to Hull. 210 miles away, among

It was established on behalf of Fox that the long-distance journeys had become less in number and frequency. He told the LA that he now knew better. The application by Fox for a new licence with a 200-mile radius included in the normal user was heard concurrently. Fox Was warned by the LA that a re-appearance would probably mean the loss of his licence. There would be no question of a suspension.
