Earimar Welding of a Famous Belgian Bell.

In connection with the damage to the famous Roelandt belfry bell, it Will interest our readers to know that Barimar, Ltd., 10, Poland Street, London, W., has sent a letter to the Mayor of Ghent undertaking to repair the crack in the bell by its scientific weldMg process. If undertaken, the concern claims to effect a repair without loss of tone, and also to restore the bell to its original efficiency. The Barimar process is now well-known throughout the industrial-vehicle world.

'A New Electrically-welded Steel Wheel.

We have recently had brought to our notice a new ,form of steel wheel which is manufactured by Light Steel Tubular Wheels, Ltd.,.31g, Euston Road, London, N.W. The Stelfast steel wheel, as it is named, is built up with independent spokes, rim and naveplates. During the process of manufacture, these parts are subjected to high-compression stresses, the force being -applied to the spokes from the centre of the wheel and not from the rim or tire.

All joints in the Stelfast; wheel are electrically welded by a process for which the makers hold patent rights, and after completion the wheel is virtually one piece of metal throughout. The built up method of constructing.wheeIs enables the material to be satisfactorily distributed where the stress is greatest ; in the manufacture of light wheels, this method also allows the use of aluminium alloy without sacrificing the strength. The makers are also placing on the market a device Which they term the Magazine-Nut brace for the fixing of Stelfast wheels to the hubs, by which the labour of refitting is greatly reduced. Vacuum Grease Cartridge.

The illustration we reproduce herewith is of an ingeniously-designed grease cartridge, which forms a clean and economical method of filling pressure grease cups. It is marketed by the Vacuum Oil Co., Ltd., Casxton. House, Westminster, London, S.W.

By simply turning the key fixed to the head of the cartridge' the Gargoyle Mobilubricant, as it is called, is easily forced out. A knurled cap can be used to regulate the supply of grease forced out. This method of filling grease cups obviates the waste and trouble often experienced with the use of lubricants.
