Permanent evidence of temperature variations inside a vehicle body can be obtained with the Blick Thermo Recorder now available from the Transit Temperature Recorder Division of Blick Time Recorders.

This new instrument is a lowpriced bi-metal recorder and and will give an accurate record of temperature levels in a body for periods of eight, 16 or 32 days. The reading is made on a pressure sensitive wax paper chart and the instrument can be wall mounted or inserted within a cargo as required; the unit is completely portable being powered by a 32-day clockwork movement with a time-keeping accuracy of 1 per cent.

The temperature-sensitive bimetal element in the recorder is not affected by normal vibrations and shocks and is said to be accurate within 1.5 per cent of scale length and will indicate 50 per cent of a temperature change within 15 minutes and 90 per cent within 40min.

A choice of six temperature ranges is available and change gears are supplied to give three chart speeds. Overall dimensions of the use of the instrument are 6.5in. by 3.6in. by 1.8in. and it weighs about 2.21b.
