Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Glasgow Transport Department through people travelling beyond their fare stages than through non-collection of fares. This is revealed in a report compiled after investigations by inspectors who spent a total of 1,094 hours last month checking the distances passengers travelled.

The report shows that of 97,537 passengers, only 97 had not paid the fare, involving the sum of £1 14s. 71d., whereas 523 had travelled beyond their stage. It is estimated that the ,loss from this practice amounts to nearly £46,000 a year.

EXPORTS DECLINE XPORTS of 9,758 comrnereial vehicles in February dropped from the January figure of 10,622 and compared poorly with 11,533 in February, 1958. Production of 24,421 vehicles, against 26,321 in the first month of this year, represents the maintenance of a good level of output allowing for a short month. Details appear in the accompanying tables.

Official statistics give the output of goods vehicles in March as 27,896, with a weekly average of 5,579, and passenger vehicles 1,146, the weekly average being 229. For the first quarter of the year the production of goods vehicles was 76,070 (weekly average 5,852) and of passenger vehicles 3,399 (weekly average, 261).

Exports of 9,285 goods vehicles ir March brought the total for the quarter to 27,648, and of 370 passenger vehicles to a three-month total of 1,191.
