A For 2007 Chris Levelt's racing TGA will boast MAN'S latest D26 common-rail —a year ahead of the pack Bird's relationship with MAN extends beyond running TGAs on the road, as it becomes one of the German manufacturer's most favoured racing teams.
Andy Levett was a pioneering European truck racer two decades ago. and today his place has been taken by 21-year-old son Chris. In 2007, Chris Levett will be one of just three drivers campaigning TGAs powered by the latest MAN 026 commonrail engines before their release to all MAN teams in 2008. The Bird's Racing team will be run by veteran truck race manager Dave Atkins who, like Bird's, also operates from a German base, in this case at Buhl, just across the border from Strasbourg.
