Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

up a mobile phone while on the move any different from removing a cigarette from the packet, placing it in the mouth and proceeding to ignite it with a miniature flamethrower, all with one hand?

Also, is reading directions to a drop any different?! once drove across strange territory in London, picking up the A to Z at every opportunity.

For some, a 45-minute break is a chance to get their heads down; a snack era sandwich will be taken on the move. It might not be what some would call professional driving, but in the real world of trucking it has to happen.

How many car drivers can drive properly even with two hands on the wheel?

I believe that the driving test should involve steering a course with one hand to prove you can handle the vehicle in any conditions!

Answering a mobile is in itself no big deal, and is as easy as the two-way radio fitted in my truck. The problem lies with outgoing calls, when you have to take your eyes off the road to scroll the directory, or even dial manually, and to me that is when common sense should obviously prevail.
